Educators are the people who should create this type of environment. Especially for those students who can not show their true self at home or in other places.  After reading and looking at all the materials in this weeks modules, it is extremely saddening to know that so many people, especially children are having thoughts of self-harm, not being able to get proper help for their mental state and not feeling accepted ...

Hello, Everyone!  Welcome to my blog!  My name is Kailey Maloney. I am a sophomore in the 5-year childhood and special education program with a concentration in history.  I love to watch and play sports with my siblings. I have been playing field hockey for the last 11 years and now coach a youth team in Huntington! I am also a huge Islanders fan and love to watch them play with my dad whether it be at UBS Arena or from our couch.  I am also a big Disney fan and love visiting the parks in Orlando, Florida! I have been going there ever since I was a little kid and still get so excited every time I go. No matter how many times I go to the parks or how many times I watch some of my favorite movies I always feel the magic that Disney creates! I am so excited to learn more in this course and hope that everyone has a great semester!
